Paris Spring Break Part II

The steep road leading up to Montmartre is another hidden gem in Paris for all you food lovers out there. On Sunday, it is the Parisian tradition to have some roast chicken with crisps (Not sure why crisps in particular).

We were headed up to the monumental Church for a fashion shoot (which you should totally check out http://cambridge.tab.co.uk/2013/03/05/parisian-printemps/) and also came across these babies:

A Very famous, award winning Patisserie. My apologies, I bought pastries but ate them before I could take pictures!

Another notable place in Paris is actually somewhere you are all familiar with: Starbucks. Starbucks in Paris, like Mcdonalds in Paris, definitely has a more refined, chic atmosphere compared to its American counterparts.

10 points to Starbucks for securing this sick retail spot near Opera. I thought it best to try something on the menu that one cannot find in the US menu and it was ‘warm French Brioche’ which was essentially French Toast, but using brioche instead of toast. It was really delicious.

Of course, if anything, one thing you must have in Paris is crepe:

This one was from a vendor across from the Starbucks near Opera. I don’t know what it is about French Crepe that makes it so wonderfully delicious. The one in Houston Hall is really an insult to the name ‘crepe’. The best part, of course, is the tip of the triangle where all the melted Nutella resides at the end of your crepe journey.

  1. Glad you had a good crepe experience, but the crepes in Paris are actually the least authentic ones. So don’t be fooled.

      • I’ve been told by many of my French professors who were born in France.
        Like you, I thought the ones in Paris were pretty amazing! However, I found out later on that they’ve got nothing on the crêpes from the region of Bretagne, where crêpes originated.
