Walking down South Street on a cold, crispy, Saturday afternoon, I have this sudden urge to eat a humongous burger with juicy meat. The problem was whether I should try Shakeshack, or go into this dark oak building named Village Whiskey. Having head of the bar before, I was intrigued to see what kind of food they served and entered the bar with caution.
Upon entering the restaurant past the reception area, one is faced with (surprise surprise) a shelf with perhaps 100 different kinds of Whiskey.
The service was not particularly impressive (the waiter literally threw a napkin at me when I ordered some apple cider).
But the food definitely made up for it. Especially recommend the BBQ burger for its succulent pork meat and perfectly concocted BBQ sauce with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavours.
If you are looking for a chill atmosphere to have a delicious yet simple meal, definitely recommend the spot.
